The first website for an airsoft club

A club and shop in Lublin. Before, everything ran on a Facebook page and on the owner himself. I built a site that takes the routine off his plate.

Game sign-ups, player lists, insurance, parental consent for anyone under 18. The owner did all of it by hand, through Facebook and paper.

Research

I went into the shop for 10 minutes and stayed for 6 hours. I talked to the owner, players and regular customers and wrote down everything that got in their way.

Then I looked at where the community talks online. There are lots of people, but they're spread across Telegram, Discord and Facebook.

What I heard and what I did

  1. What I heard: The shop has no fixed hours and the owner is often at games. People came to a locked door and called him

What I did: Shop status on the site: open or closed, plus a short note on when he'll be back. The owner changes it himself

  2. What I heard: Fake Facebook accounts booked 50+ spots and never showed up, but he still brought gear for everyone

What I did: Booking by email and phone. Mass booking from fake accounts got much harder

  3. What I heard: On Facebook you couldn't sign up a whole team at once

What I did: A whole team signs up from one phone

  4. What I heard: 100+ players every Sunday, and he copied each one by hand for the insurance

What I did: The insurance list builds itself and can be saved as a PDF or printed

  5. What I heard: Every player under 18 needed a parental consent form sent separately

What I did: If a player is under 18, the consent form lands in their inbox automatically

  6. What I heard: People didn't show up and didn't cancel

What I did: A confirmation email with one-click cancel

  7. What I heard: Beginners wanted to try but didn't know what to bring or how it all works

What I did: A beginners page: what to bring, how a game day goes, gear included in the price

How it looks

The site is dark and serious, like the game itself: an almost black background, photos from the field, a narrow typeface and one red color for accents. You can book a game right from the first screen.

What's next

After launch we'll add a page for corporate events. Later we want to build a place for the whole Lublin airsoft community: teams, ratings, tournaments, a marketplace and a forum.

  1. Corporate events
  2. Teams and rosters
  3. Rankings and tournaments
  4. Shop and marketplace
  5. Forum

Launching Nov 2026

After launch we'll track:

  1. How many people don't show up
  2. How much time lists and insurance take
  3. How many calls about the closed shop

✦ What I took away

The most useful stuff didn't come from a scripted interview, it came from just talking in the shop. People told me what got in their way, and almost all of it ended up on the site.
